Through selective raw material processing and the use of state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies, C&D develops products that are exactly tailored to the specific requirements of each individual customer.

Innovations by experts for experts.

Crespel & Deiters has consistently and sustainably been working with the naturally renewable raw material wheat for more than 150 years. We fully utilise the ingredients of the grain, making use of all its constituent parts. From these valuable constituent parts, we develop innovative functional products for different industries and sectors.

Starch – a natural raw material of increasing importance.

The formation of starch in plant-based raw materials such as wheat, rice and potatoes is part of the process known as photosynthesis. For millions of years, unbelievable amounts of carbohydrates, such as e.g. starch, but also sugar or cellulose, have repeatedly been produced from the carbon dioxide in the air, with the help of the chlorophyll in the plants’ leaves and with the natural help of sunlight. A miracle of nature that takes place without human intervention.

As a necessity for all organic life on this planet, this process has also brought us the stores of fossil energy sources which are becoming increasingly scarce today, and whose use needs to be reduced to protect the environment. Industrially manufactured starch products can replace raw materials from these limited stores. Therefore this constantly renewable raw material is becoming increasingly significant thanks to its wide range of potential uses.
